Why now?

A global climate
and biodiversity crisis

Climate change is a global crisis, described as "a code red for humanity" by the UN Secretary General. No place or community is immune, with disadvantaged communities, including Travel & Tourism destinations, being particularly vulnerable.

Rising temperatures drive environmental degradation, natural disasters, and food and water insecurity. Sea levels are rising, coral reefs are dying, and biodiversity is declining. Despite global commitments, progress is too slow.
